The Karakachan is a breed of dog of Bulgarian origin, known for its imposing size and for being a livestock guarding dog.

Males weigh between 50 and 60 kg, while females weigh between 40 and 50 kg. Regarding their height, males measure between 65 and 75 cm at the shoulder, while females measure between 60 and 70 cm. As for their life expectancy, it is estimated to be between 10 and 12 years. They are not recognized by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI).
