Breed history in brief

This breed was originally developed and bred by the Eskimos living in the Arctic to help them hunt and transport their supplies. These dogs were physically hardy and had a great ability to track animals over long distances. This endurance is due to the breed's adaptation to the Arctic climate, where the dogs have evolved to withstand extremely low temperatures. These dogs were useful for carrying heavy equipment, hunting and guiding Eskimos across the tundra. In addition, they were very good at detecting predators, which made them a vital part of Eskimo survival. This breed is also very popular among sledding sports enthusiasts, as this breed of dog is especially hardy over long distances.
